SANAA, July 25 (YPA) –  Turkey is mobilizing what it said were “Syrian mercenaries” to transport them to Yemen, in an effort to support the Islah party, Yemeni branch of Muslims Brotherhood, the UAE’s Sky News Arabic channel reported

The channel quoted The Syrian Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman, as saying that Turkish forces transported a group of Syrian gunmen from Afrin in northern Syria to Qatar in exchange for thousands of dollars in preparation for their transfer to Yemen.

He added that there is no information so far on whether these mercenaries will stay in Qatar only for training or then go to Yemen.

According to the channel, Turkey, which has already begun to penetrate Yemen under various pretexts, wants to extend its ambitions and influence to the Bab al-Mandab area and the Gulf of Aden, where it has the largest military base in neighboring Somalia.

The channel also quoted the site ” Ahval ” specialized in Turkish affairs, that Turkish intelligence opened an office to register the names of the armed men, who wish to go to Yemen, to fight alongside the Muslims Brotherhood.
