US registers high rate of coronavirus infections

SANAA, July 11 (YPA) – On Friday, the United States recorded nearly 69,000 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), a record daily increase for the third consecutive day.

Eight states also saw record increases in the number of daily casualties Friday: Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Ohio, Utah and Wisconsin, according to a new Reuters count.

The previous record was announced on Thursday after 62,304 cases were reported.

The average increase in June was 28,000 per day, according to a Reuters count.

More than three million confirmed infections in the United States, according to a Reuters tally.

Overall infections are on the rise in 44 states, according to a Reuters analysis in the last two weeks.
