American fighters intercept Russian planes off Alaska

SANAA, June 28 (YPA) – The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said it pushed F-22s on Saturday to intercept four Russian reconnaissance planes off the state of Alaska.
According to Reuters, a leadership said that the interception of Russian aircraft Tupolev-142 marks the tenth time this year that Russian military aircraft are intercepted off Alaska.

The organization stated that Russian aircraft did not enter the American or Canadian sovereign airspace.

Command spokesperson Cameron Hillier said that the American combat aircraft are stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska.

The incident is one of a series of investigations conducted by Russia and the United States this year, and Russia’s Interfax news agency reported that Russia had pushed fighter jets to intercept two B-52 US bombers on June 19 flying over the Sea of Okhotsk off the Russian Far East coast.
