Israeli parliament announces suspension of its committee sessions due to corona

SANAA, June 4 (YPA) – The Israeli parliament, the Knesset, announced on Thursday the suspension of its committee sessions, after recording confirmed cases of the “Covid-19” virus among its members.
The occupation entity government also closed some schools again, amid fears of a pandemic again.
Reuters news agency said that the Knesset’s media office announced in a statement that it had canceled the committee’s discussions on Thursday as a precaution, after it was announced that Knesset member Sami Abu Shehada was infected with the virus “Covid-19”.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that all Knesset employees were informed of the non-attendance, pending a decision in this regard at a later time.
Deputy Sami Abu Shehada wrote a tweet on social networks on Wednesday in which he said: “I received the result of the corona examination that I conducted today, the result of the examination is positive.”
Abu Shehada added, “I call on  everyone who was close to me in the last two weeks, to enter the quarantine, and to conduct an examination in the near future to check on his health and reduce as much as possible the spread of infection.”
Abu Shehada added, “Corona is still among us, and it is spreading at a rapid pace in the recent period due to the lack of full compliance with the instructions.”
It is noteworthy that Representative Abu Shehada is one of the 15 Arab representatives in the Israeli Knesset who were elected under the Joint Arab List, which represents Arab parties in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948.
