Netanyahu announces complete lockdown in occupation entity

SANAA, April 7 (YPA) – Prime Minister in occupation entity announced a complete lockdown in Israel due to the Coronavirus, starting at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

In a televised speech, Netanyahu said citizens would be prevented from leaving their homes during the Jewish Passover.

He added that some restrictions may be gradually lifted after the holidays if developments with the coronavirus are positive.

Addressing the Israelis, he said, “It depends on you.”

The lockdown measures are expected to be ratified until they come into effect, which also include the suspension of public transport, the prohibition of inter-city travel.

Netanyahu noted that the coming days will be crucial regarding the spread of the coronavirus in Israel, saying that the situation there is “better than in the world.”

This comes against the backdrop of the rise in the number of people infected with Covid-19 in Israel to 8,904, and the death toll to 57 after eight new cases were recorded in the last 48 hours.
