Supreme Judicial Council directs prosecution to investigate offenders of Judiciary Council in Aden

 

SANAA, May 2 (YPA) – The Supreme Judicial Council held on Wednesday a meeting chaired by the President of the Council Ahmed Yahya Al-Mutawakil to discuss decisions of the so-called Council of the Judiciary in Aden, implying the status of non-state.

In the meeting, Al-Mutawakil stressed on the illegality of the so-called Supreme Judicial Council in Aden and therefore the illegality of what is issued.

The Council directed the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures and investigate with the Supreme Judicial Council’s Supreme Court in Aden in implementation of the Council’s Decision No. (69) for the year 2018 regarding of the lifting of judicial immunity.

The Council considered Aden’s Judiciary is an  attempt to divide the judiciary and undermine its independence in order to serve the aggression against Yemen.

The Council also discussed the Minister of Justice memorandum annexed to the report of the Parliamentary Committee on the situation of prisons and prisoners in the light of the report of the Ministers of Justice and Interior.

The Council mandated the Attorney-General to complete the implementation of the follow-up to the implementation of the mechanism approved by the Council at its meeting No. 26 of 2017 on prisoners in respect of special rights.

The Council discussed  the head of the judicial inspection memorandum on the plan of the Judicial Inspection Commission for the year 2018 with the memorandum of the Secretary General of the Council on the study and analysis of the Commission’s plan by the competent department in the Council.

 

The Council approved the plan, commending efforts to complete periodic review procedures and examining the efficiency reports of judges and assistants.
