U.S. Navy to conduct ballistic missile test

SANAA, Feb. 17 (YPA) – The US Navy announced that it will conduct a test on a “Trident 2” ballistic missile.

A statement issued by the US Navy said that the experiment confirmed the specifications of the expected “Trident 2” missile, and allowed the collection of additional information on the safety, accuracy and specifications of the strategic weapons system.

The experiment included the launch of a missile, extended from a submarine, at the beach in San Diego, California.

The “Trident 2” missile entered service in 1989, and now it is the only missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead in the possession of the US and British navies.
