FM official condemns Trump’s unfair plan for peace in Middle East

SANAA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – An official at the Foreign Ministry in the National Salvation Government condemned the announcement of US President Donald Trump for the so-called peace plan between the Palestinians and the Israelis known as the Century Deal in the Middle East, which was completely biased in favor of the Zionist enemy and against the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The official pointed out in a statement that the Trump plan focused on what it called the security of Israel in a clear disregard of the legitimate and internationally recognized rights of the Palestinian people and the killing and displacement which Palestinian suffered by the Zionist entity in flagrant violation of humanitarian values and international conventions, especially the four Geneva Conventions.

The source called on Arab countries to assume their moral and national responsibility towards the Palestinian people and preserve their inalienable rights.

The source emphasized that the so-called deal of the century will not end the Palestinian Arab and national issue, but will lead to more violence and instability in the region and outside it and will have regional dimensions that are not in the interest of those who plan to liquidate the just cause of Palestine.

The statement said, “The Arab peoples will not remain silent, and there is no way that any failing positions will lead to the uprooting of these complicated regimes that are trying to abandon the Palestinian Arab territories, with al-Quds as its capital.”

The source concluded his statement by stressing that any peace plan to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict must be based on the international legal references of the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly agreed upon as well as the basic rights of the Palestinian people, including preserving the cohesion of its lands and its capital al-Quds, the Palestinian social fabric and the return of Palestinian refugees.
