Saudi Arabia tries to burnish its presence in Mahra by fake humanitarian projects

MAHRA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – Spokesman for the peaceful sit-in of Mahra province Ahmed Belhaf on Tuesday said that Saudi Arabia is trying to burnish its military presence in the province by false information about “humanitarian and development projects.”

“The Saudi electronic flies are on alert after the investigation recently broadcast by Al-Jazeera about the Saudi military presence in Mahra province, which revealed the hidden intentions of Saudi Arabia in occupying the province and controlling its resources,” Belhaf added, in a tweet on Twitter.

Belhaf explained that this prompted Saudi Arabia to publish false information, through which it promotes fake humanitarian and development projects in Mahra.

He affirmed that the truth is that “Saudi Arabia occupies Mahra province, and the people of the province refuse its presence.”

Activists on social media had launched a campaign that called for an end to the futility of the Saudi-Emirati coalition, and Riyadh’s practices in Mahra province.

For almost two years, the people of Mahra province have continued their sit-ins and protest calling for an end to the unjustified presence of Saudi military forces in the province, which, since their arrival, have violated human rights, spread chaos, and occupied strategic sites in Mahra.
