Health Ministry announces number of deaths, infected cases of malaria, dengue fever

 

SANAA, Nov. 13 (YPA) – Minister of the Public Health and Population in the National Salvation Government on Wednesday Dr. Taha al-Mutwakil announced the number of infected cases of malaria and dengue fever, and the number of confirmed and reported deaths.

“There are 116, 522 confirmed infected cases of malaria, 500,000 cases of suspicion, and about 23,000 cases of dengue fever,” Dr. al-Mutwakil said in a press statement.

He explained that the cases of confirmed deaths from dengue fever reached 11 cases, and 51 death cases were reported.

The Health Minister revealed the source of the epidemic of malaria and dengue fever. “Most diseases and epidemics are transmitted from areas under the occupation,” he said.

He stressed that “all are concerned with the fight against diseases and epidemics and the delivery of health messages.”

On Tuesday, Dr. al-Mutwakil announced from the province of Hodeidah the state of internal emergency to combat dengue fever, malaria and their vectors, especially with the rainy season and the deterioration of infrastructure as a result of the aggression.
