Parliament questions Telecommunications Minister

SANAA, Nov.6 (YPA) – The Parliament on Wednesday listened to the reply of Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology and Director General of the Public Telecommunications Corporation to question of the Parliament member Ahmed Saif Hashed on “Yemen Net” company’s activity and achievements.

The question included the company’s financial position and its current and future plans, the bases of setting the price tariff for internet services, the international capacity of the internet in Yemen, the number of internet subscribers, and the recent changes in the high prices of internet service.

Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Mesfer al-Numair and Director General of the Public Telecommunications Corporation Sadiq Musleh reviewed the company’s activities, the difficulties it faces and the services it provides to the public throughout Yemen and the impact of the aggression on the Internet sector.

The Parliament referred the question and the reply to the competent committee for study and report to the parliament.
