Yemen condemns targeting Hajjah’s wedding

SANAA, April 23 (YPA) – Yemen on Monday strongly condemned the horrific crime committed by Saudi-led coalition which targeted a wedding party in Beni Qais district of Hajjah province, the Ministry of Human Rights said in a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency.

In the statement, the ministry said the targeting of the Hajjah’s wedding is a terrorist act, and the legal responsibility is bearded to the United Nations and its various organs

The statement called on the international community, headed by the Security Council and the Human Rights Council, to take responsibility for the systematic killing of Yemeni people by the coalition by using all internationally prohibited means and weapons.

The ministry asked the UN Secretary-General’s representative to inform the international community of this crime and similar crimes which killed dozens of civilians in Wedding parties.

In the statement the ministry also called on the UN envoy to Yemen , international community and organizations to convene an urgent Security Council’s meeting to take decisions to stop the war immediately and lifting the comprehensive siege on land, sea and air.

The Ministry of Human Rights renewed its call for the formation of an independent and impartial international commission to investigate the facts and all crimes and violations, including rape and capabilities destruction of the Yemeni people and bring the perpetrators to trial.
