Differences between “Saudi-backed government and STC” delay signing Riyadh agreement

ADEN, Oct. 28 (YPA) – Big differences between the Saudi-backed government and the so-called UAE’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) have delayed the signing of the Riyadh agreement indefinitely.

The differences were dominated by the matrix of the agreement, which includes the formation of a new government in a 50-50 way between the two parties, with the withdrawal of STC”s forces from the military camps and institutions in the occupied Aden and their handover to the government.

The agreement also included getting rid of personalities and leaders, most notably” Ahmed Al-Maisar, interior minister of Hadi, and Saleh al-Jabwani, transport minister” in Hadi’s government, and other ministers.

According to observers, Saudi Arabia is putting more pressures on Hadi’s government in order to sign the agreement on Tuesday after it was expected to be signed on Monday.

Observers pointed out that the signing of the agreement is the last chance to get rid of  the Islah party (Yemeni branch of  Muslim Brotherhood).
