Shortage of water supplies pushes 15 million Yemenis towards deadly diseases: Oxfam

SANAA, Oct. 22 (YPA) – A severe shortage of water supplies due to the fuel crisis in Yemen has put 15 million people at risk of deadly disease, according to Oxfam statement on Tuesday.

The statement said,” The people depend on water supplied by local networks and private companies, where they continued to reduce their daily consumption because of rising fuel prices.”

It warned against a shortage clean water that will lead to the spread of waterborne diseases and epidemics.

The organization affirmed that reducing water consumption daily would targeted Ibb, Dhamar and al-Mahwait, while the central water networks were forced to shut down completely.
