PM meets Electricity Minister

SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – Prime Minister Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor on Saturday met with Minister of Electricity and Energy Atiq Abbar.

In the meeting, Abbar handed Bin Habtoor a report on the situation of the ministry and the difficulties it faces due to the repercussions of the aggression and the Saudi-UAE blockade and limit its service capabilities.

The meeting discussed the features of the ministry’s plan to upgrade the status of the electricity sector using the available generating capacities to reduce the suffering of citizens, especially in the West Coast and Tihama Plains.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of the ministry following the government plans and programs related to the energy sector and devoting institutional work in its various activities.

Dr. bin Habtoor directed Minister of Electricity and Energy to paid attention to the introduction of alternative and renewable energy projects and the development of measures that stimulate investment in this service sector linked to various aspects of the daily lives of Yemeni citizens.

For his part, the Minister of Electricity and Energy expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the confidence given to him.

Abbar affirmed that he would not hesitate to exert maximum efforts to enhance the ministry’s activity and promote the reality of the electric service according to the possibilities available in this exceptional period that the Yemeni people are going through.
