Health ministry closes 432 unlicensed pharmacies in Sanaa

SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – Yemen’s Health ministry announced on Saturday it has closed 432 unlicensed pharmacies in Sanaa.

During a press conference, the minister Taha al-Mutawakel explained the results of the evaluation and classification of pharmacies which provide the high quality health services and safe medicine.

The minister said these pharmacies were accused of sale of medicines provided as aid and unlicensed narcotic remedies, as well as to other pharmacies whose owners do not have the certificates of practicing the profession.

Al-Mutawakel said, “The health situation in Yemen is a bad situation and necessary to intervene continuously to prevent those who exploit the suffering of citizens and harm public health.”

He stressed that its ministry would take strict actions against anyone tries to tamper with the medical situation or disregard the citizens’lives.
