Al-Harizi: The priority of “Southern Council” is to expel foreign forces

MAHRAH, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Informed sources on Monday reported of preparations for a number of components, social and tribal figures of the south, to announce a broad southern council that includes all the spectrum of society in the coming days in Mahrah.

Sheikh Ali al-Harizi said on Monday: “The Southern National Salvation Council is complete and its publicity ceremony will take place on October 18th.

Al-Harizi confirmed that Mahrah province will host the council’s publicity ceremony, noting that the council’s leadership will continue the steps to complete the organizational structure of the council.

He explained that the aim of the coalition is to absorb all the southern components that believe in dialogue and work for a unified Yemen with justice and democracy.

Al-Harizi  confirmed that expelling foreign forces and addressing their chaotic projects is one of the council’s top priorities, stressing that the council will move at the international and regional level to tell the world that the Transitional Council in Aden does not represent the south but militias run by the UAE.

Sheikh Ali al-Harizi and a number of faction leaders and southern figures held a meeting in the Omani capital Muscat with the Russian deputy foreign minister to discuss the southern issue in light of recent developments that have hit a number of southern provinces.

The meeting included the most prominent southern leaders besides Al-Harizi, former Security director of Mahrah and many other social and tribal figures.
