706 civilians killed, wounded by coalition fire in Hodeidah during 9 months

HODEIDAH, Sept. 23 (YPA) – The number of civilians killed and wounded in Hodeidah province by Saudi-led coalition airstrikes and its mercenaries attacks since the signing of Sweden Agreement in December 2018 has risen to about 706, mostly children and women.

This came after the announcement of death of a girl on Sunday night from wounds she has sustained due to the coalition mercenaries’ shelling on her family’s home in Jabaliya area of Tuhita district in mid-September.

In early September, a security source in Hodeidah said a child was killed and a man was injured as a result of a mortar shell fired by the coalition mercenaries on Rimiya area in Tuhita district.

On August 24, a local source announced that a young man,18, was killed in al-Sotor area of Zabid district by a mortar shell fired by the coalition mercenaries.

On August 14, a girl was seriously wounded by a shrapnel of a mortar shell fired by the coalition mercenaries on al-Madman area of Tuhita district.

Another girl was seriously injured by the coalition forces fire in Dum al-Hadi area of Tuhita district, a security source said on August 12.

Governor of Hodeidah Mohammed Quhim revealed in August that over 200 citizens, mostly children and women, were killed and more than 500 others wounded by bullets and artillery shells of the coalition forces and mercenaries since the Sweden Agreement.

He added that about 200 various civil facilities were damaged by the coalition forces and mercenaries in Jabaliya area of Tuhita, al-Faza area and outskirts of al-Hali and al-Hauk districts during the same period.

The value of damage to citizens’ houses, private and public property, farms and fishing centers in the province estimated at more than $1.5 billion dollars, according to the governor.
