Saudi Arabia requests 20 million barrels of Iraqi oil to supply its refineries

SANAA, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has requested 20 million barrels of oil from Iraq’s State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO) to supply its refineries, the Wall Street Journal website reported on Thursday.

According to press reports, the last Saturday attack on two vital facilities belonging to Saudi Aramco, the largest oil processing facility in the world, caused heavy losses to the Kingdom’s economy.

Forecasts indicate that the return of supplies to what it was before the attack will take several weeks and perhaps months, while others argue that the halt of nearly half of Saudi Arabia’s oil production for more than six weeks could push the price of Brent crude above $ 75.
