Saudi Arabia sends more military reinforcement to Shabwah

SHABWAH, Sept. 18 (YPA) – Huge Saudi military reinforcements, the second in three days, have arrived in The City of Ataq on Tuesday, the capital of Shabwah province, south-eastern Yemen. This was confirmed by “Sputnik” based on local sources.

According to the sources, a batch of armored vehicles on board tankers arrived in the city of Ataq coming from Saudi Arabia through the border port of Al-Wadiah in Hadhramaut province in eastern Yemen.

On Saturday, a group of 75 military vehicles arrived in The City of Ataq, was transferred by the exiled Hadi and Al-Ahmar forces to the coastal city of Shaqra in Khanfar district, east of Abyan province, reinforcements to positions close to the points of contact with the UAE’s southern transitional militias.

Since the middle of last month, military tensions between the exiled Hadi’s forces, the Islah party on the one hand, and the southern transitional militias have escalated after the latter took control of Aden and clashes broke out in Abyan and Shabwah provinces.
