UAE-backed militia leader injured in Abyan, another arrested in Shabwa

ABYAN, Sept. 17 (YPA) – A militia leader of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council was injured on Tuesday by Hadi’s forces in Abyan province, while another militia leader was arrested in Shabwa province, southeast Yemen.

Abdulwahid Maqratt al-Yousfi was injured in an incident that its circumstances remain unclear, while inspecting militia positions and points in al-Makhren area near Zinjbar city, the capital of Abyan province, sources reported.

On the other hand, sources in Shabwa province said that Hadi’s forces arrested a senior leader in the UAE-backed militias of the southern transition council while coordinating attacks against the forces of Hadi and Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar in Shabwa.

According to the sources, the detained is a leader in the so-called “Shabwani elite” militias and one of the accused of planning to target Hadi’s forces in Ain Ba-Mabad area of Radhom district in Shabwa last week.
