Seven people killed in flash floods in Morocco

MOROCCO, Aug. 29 (YPA) – At least seven people have died in flash floods caused by heavy rains near Taroudant, 600 kilometres south of Rabat, Moroccan authorities said on Wednesday evening.

“Strong rainfall killed seven people (in the village) of TheZert roundabout near the city of Taroudant,” she said, according to Reuters.

The authorities said that they are looking for possible survivors with the help of the local population and would “update the national public”.

An elderly person was found with varying-serious injuries following the floods in the Egren district, the Moroccan website Hasprey reported.
