Hundreds of thousands protest demanding reopening of Sanaa Airport

SANAA, Aug. 10 (YPA) – Hundred of thousands of Yemeni people have staged a demonstration on Friday in front of the main gate of Sanaa International Airport under the slogan “The continuation of the air embargo and the blockade is an American crime”.

The demonstrators stressed that the Yemeni people have the right to use all available options to break the siege and stop the aggression, repeating recent warnings issued by Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Huthi.

In a statement, the demonstrators called on the United Nations and humanitarian organisations to act quickly to lift restrictions on the airspace, noting that the continued imposition of the blockade on Sana’a International Airport is the work of the US-Saudi aggression coalition.

In a related context, the demonstrators renewed the absolute popular rejection of the decision by the Saudi-backed Hadi administration to raise the prices of domestic gas cylinders, demanding that the National Salvation Government stands firmly against the mercenaries of aggression.

The statement called on the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government in general to take the necessary measures to protect Yemen’s people and their capabilities, and to put an end to the practices of looting, theft and waste of the nation’s wealth in the occupied provinces.

Yemen is in its third year of Sana’a International Airport’s complete shutdown for passengers and patients in need, due to the Saudi blockade.
