Yemeni army repels Saudi-led mercenaries attack in Jizan

JIZAN, Aug. 8 (YPA) – The Yemeni army backed by Popular Committees on Thursday managed to repel a large-scale attack carried out by mercenaries hired by Saudi-led coalition in Jizan region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the official, dozens of the mercenaries were killed and wounded during their foiled infiltration attempt on the army positions in the eastern part of Dood Mountain.

Meanwhile, the engineering unit bombed gatherings of the mercenaries in the same area which increased the number killed and forced the rest of the attackers into retreat.

The official confirmed that the attack lasted for several hours with the participation of military and reconnaissance aircraft without making any significant progress on the ground.
