UAE-backed militia assault university students in Aden

ADEN, July 28 (YPA) – Militias of the so-called “security belt forces” loyal to the UAE on Sunday attacked university students celebrating their graduation from a faculty of Aden University and tore their uniforms because of the existence of the flag of the Republic of Yemen on them.

Activists on social media circulated a video showing elements of the UAE-backed security belt militia tear up the flag of the Republic of Yemen from the students’ graduating uniforms and insult the Republic of Yemen.

According to the activists, the students were banned from participating in their graduation ceremony with the Yemeni flag on their graduation uniforms.

Over the past four years, the UAE, a key member of the Saudi-led coalition, has worked in the so-called “liberated areas” to establish military and political entities that espouse and advocate the separation scheme. It has also sought to inflame southerners’ secessionism tend, exploiting the presence of Hadi government in its grip.
