Israeli Foreign Ministry: Saudi and Iraqi journalists to visit Tel Aviv

SANAA, July 22 (YPA) – A delegation consist of six Arab journalists, including Saudis and Iraqis, will visit Israel next week, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

The ministry confirmed in a statement issued Sunday that journalists will visit Tel Aviv, al-Guds, northern Israel and other areas, and would meet knesset deputies, officials and academics.

The Ministry stated that the visit was aimed at informing journalists of Israel’s positions on diplomatic (without specifying) issues and Israeli society.

The ministry did not disclose the names of the journalists, but noted that this was the first time that journalists from Saudi Arabia and Iraq had arrived in Israeli territory.

In recent years, Israel has made concrete efforts to normalize relations with some Arab states, particularly the Gulf, in the face of Iran, “the common opponent.”
