Yemeni army forces launch attack on Saudi Abha airport with drones

SANAA, June 17 (YPA) – The Yemeni army on Monday evening launched another wave of air attacks on Abha airport in Asir region, in the south of Saudi Arabia, the spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, Brig. Yahya Sare’e said in statement.

Sare’e said the Air Force runs large operations towards the airport Abha International and hit the targets with high accuracy.

The spokesman added that “The operations of the Yemeni Air Force disrupted the air navigation at Abha airport,” and promised to “announce the details of offensive operations in the coming hours.”

The air force carried out an attack by Qasif-k2 drone on Monday morning at Abha airport in Asir, southern Saudi Arabia, after about 24 hours of the double operation of the ambush air force, which attacked Abha and Jizan airports by Qasif-k2 drones.

According to Brigadier Yahya Sare’e, spokesman of the armed force “the first attack targeted Saudi unmanned aerial vehicles’ control and control rooms at Jizan airport, which hit its target with high accuracy.”

“The second attack targeted the petrol station at Abha International Airport with a number of Qasi-K2 combat drones,” he added.

He confirmed that the aerial attacks caused significant damages to both airports, putting the two airports out of service.

On June 12, the Yemeni army launched a missile attack on Abha airport with a cruise missile, targeting the control tower of the airport directly, causing its destruction and putting it out of service,” the spokesman of the Armed Forces stated.

The escalation of air force operations follows warnings issued by the Political Council and the Ministry of Defense for the coalition’s countries to resort to the use of painful options in response to the escalation of their economic war and siege imposed on Yemen and its people four years ago.
