27 coalition recruits gunned down, spy plane downed on frontier fronts

SANAA, June 6 (YPA) – The Yemeni army sniper unit carried out sporadic operations over the past few hours, killing at least 27 recruits of Saudi-led coalition on the frontier fronts in Najran and Asir regions, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The official confirmed that the army air defenses in the day afternoon shot down a spy plane belonging to the coalition forces off al-Sudais area of Najran.

In the same context, military sources said that a number of the coalition mercenaries were killed and wounded in an ambush set by the army engineering unit in al-Ajashr area off Najran, while some others were killed in a blast of an explosive device in Marba’ Shaja area in the same region.

On Wednesday, the army forces backed by popular committees managed to control more than 20 military sites in Najran, carrying out large-scale offensive operations from three directions, killing, wounding and capturing dozens of the coalition fighters.
