SANAA, June 2 (YPA) – The Yemeni riyal has plunged against foreign currencies over this month, according to banking sources on Sunday.

The sources said that a dollar now worth 560 riyals on local official markets due to the war and economic siege imposed by Saudi-led coalition on Yemen since 2015.

The cessation of oil exports and targeting economic facilities, as well an arbitrary steps taken by an economical team in Aden city headed by Hafez Muayad appointed by the coalition against the Yemeni banks are among the factors targeting the currency, which led to increase food and fuel prices and suffering of the Yemenis, the sources added.
