SANAA, April 21 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Sunday launched in the capital Sanaa the national campaign for consumer protection during the period from 16 Sha’ban until 16 Ramadan, 1440 A.H.

The campaign, which is implemented by the concerned Ministries of Industry, Oil, and Information, Interior and the Secretariat of the capital Sanaa and the concerned bodies, aims to provide consumer needs from basic commodities and products during Ramadan in sufficient quantities at competitive prices not exceeding the ceiling of price list issued by the ministry.

The campaign includes the protection of consumers from counterfeited and expired goods, which are harmful to health, and from the unjustified rise of prices, as well as facilitating consumer access to goods and products with the quality and specified specifications.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts exerted by the leadership and cadres of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to implement the campaign, stressing the importance of integrated work between the relevant authorities in order to protect citizens.

Dr. bin Habtoor emphasized that these efforts should not only be in the month of Ramada, but should continue throughout the year.
